2 Injured in Northeast Philadelphia Car Accident

A Northeast Philadelphia car accident involvingsingle vehicle sends two men to the hospital after their vehicle loses control and slams into a guardrail. The incident took place at approximately 3:30 AM on Monday, February 6, 2012, along Whitaker Avenue in the Summerdale section of Northeast Philadelphia.

According to local police, a single vehicle with two men inside was traveling at a high rate of speed down Whitaker Avenue near Roosevelt Boulevard when the driver lost control of the vehicle. Reports indicate that the vehicle spun out of control before crashing into a guardrail.

The driver has been identified as a 32-year-old male and the passenger has been identified as a 22-year-old male. Their names were not immediately released.

Rescue crews had to extricate both men from the vehicle before transporting them to a local hospital where they were treated for various injuries. Details concerning their injuries and their conditions were not immediately made available. There were no other injuries reported.
