For the 24th time this year in Burlington County, a motorcycle accident has been fatal, and could be the impetus for a wrongful death case. This time an illegal immigrant, Concepcion Gomez-Perez, 27, of Pennsauken NJ, was driving a pickup truck hauling a landscaping trailer when the motorcycle driven by Andoni E. Beltre, 22, of Morrisville, PA struck it.
Witnesses said Gomez-Perez fled the scene of the June 20 accident in the truck. Police found the motorcycle on fire and Beltre lying in the intersection of Burlington Road and Route 130 when they arrived. He was airlifted to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton where he later died.
Gomez-Perez, who was later found by police, was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, being an unlicensed driver involved in a fatality, and multiple motor vehicle violations. He was taken to the Burlington County Jail.
Beltre’s family and friends will no doubt mourn the tragic loss of this young Morrisville motorcycle enthusiast. They may not wish to speak with a Bucks County personal injury lawyer about a fatal accident case in Bucks County right away. We understand that their grief will be a process.
How will they recover?
Most families lack the resources to address the financial void of the sudden and tragic loss of a family member killed in a motorcycle accident. Emotionally, they also must cope with the loss of household contributions from a day-to-day standpoint and if there are young children involved, it can be especially difficult for the family to recover.
Pennsylvania and New Jersey laws allow for the spouse or family members to bring a personal injury case known as “wrongful death” to recover losses they incur when their family member is fatally injured. An experienced PA and NJ personal injury lawyer who understands the complex laws of Bucks County or the Burlington area can help you navigate who can recover and how much can be recovered for the wrongful death of your loved one.
