Son of Philadelphia Detective Killed in Fatal PA Pedestrian Accident

Timothy Conners, son of a veteran Philadelphia Police Detective Martin Connors, was killed in a Philadelphia pedestrian accident on May 17, 2011.

Shortly after dismissal of the school day at Archbishop Ryan High School, 15-year-old Conners headed across Academy Road to catch a bus. As he was crossing the street, he was struck by a Suzuki SUV.

Despite efforts to save him, Connors was pronounced dead at Aria Health-Torresdale Campus at 4:10 p.m., nearly 40 minutes after the accident, due to severe trauma to his body and head.

The driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid and does not appear to have done anything wrong. She is not expected to face charges in this tragic accident.

Fellow students, family, friends and neighbors came together at Archbishop Ryan High School for a vigil in Connors’ memory just hours after his death.

The loss of a loved one is always devastating, but the loss of a young life can feel even more tragic. We at Cordisco & Saile would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Timothy Conners during this difficult time.
