Bristol Township Car Accident Involves Ambulance Transporting Patient

A Bristol Township car accident involving an ambulance transporting a patient left two injured after the ambulance was struck by another vehicle. The incident took place on Friday morning, July 6, 2012, along Route 13 in Bucks County.

According to reports, an ambulance transporting a patient was struck by another vehicle along Route 13 near Edgely Road. The patient was being transported to the hospital after being involved in an earlier wreck. A second ambulance transported the injured person to Aria Health’s Torresdale Campus in Philadelphia. The accident victim’s identity and condition was not immediately made known.

Rescue crews also transported the ambulance driver to Aria Health’s Bucks County Campus in Middletown for evaluation. It was unclear if anyone else was injured in the collision.

According to Christopher Reif, chief of the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, the ambulance had its emergency lights and sirens on at the time of the collision.

The two-vehicle Bristol Township car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. There was not early indication as to how the accident occurred or who was at fault.
