It is likely that the driver of a pickup truck, John Heany III of Lapatcong, NJ will be charged early next week in the July 4th holiday weekend fatal crash that took the lives of two New Jersey motorcyclists. The crash that also injured four other members of the Last Chance Motorcycle Club as they traveled on Route 512 in Pennsylvania together, may have been alcohol related.
Local authorities have said that evidence appears to indicate Heany was driving under the influence (DUI) when the pickup truck he drove veered into the oncoming motorcycles causing one to explode and chain reaction crash.
Cordisco & Saile LLC, wrongful death lawyers for PA and NJ, offer condolences to the family, friends and fellow club members of the two motorcyclists, Keith Michaelson and Michael Zadoyko, both of Passaic County, N.J, who tragically lost their lives in the head-on collision. While their families may not wish to contact a wrongful death attorney anytime soon, they may find it necessary to settle the affairs of their loved ones.
In the case of a fatal crash, “wrongful death” is the term used for the type of case brought to recover losses experienced by the surviving family. Most Pennsylvania and New Jersey families are financially unprepared for the results of a tragic accidental death, particularly when young children are left behind.
For those New Jersey motorcyclists among the injured, their grief will be shadowed by
•recovering from their injuries
•loss of work time
The complex laws differ between Pennsylvania and New Jersey and we at Cordisco & Saile LLC believe it is important to retain an experienced personal injury lawyer who understands those laws and will fight on behalf of you and your family for fair compensation. The laws determine who is eligible to recover and what they are allowed to recover. Depending on the state in which a wrongful death case is filed, you may be entitled to compensation for:
•costs of medical bills
•loss of income
•loss of your loved one’s services to the household
•pain and suffering by the victim experienced prior to death
If you or a loved one has been injured in a Pennsylvania or New Jersey motorcycle crash, we can competently handle all aspects of your accident injury or wrongful death claim. Contact us for a free motorcycle accident injury consultation at 1-215-642-2335.
