A man was sent to the hospital after he was struck in a Warminster pedestrian accident near Valley Road. The incident took place just after 1:00 AM on Saturday, September 15, 2012, in Bucks County.
According to Warminster Chief of Police Michael Murphy, a car struck a middle-aged man while he was crossing Street Road just past Valley Road. Rescue crews transported the unidentified man to Abington Memorial hospital where he was treated for non-life-threating injuries sustained in the accident.
The victim suffered several broken bones throughout his body. He is “pretty busted up,” said Murphy. He was believed to be staying with a friend at Meadowbrook Condominiums when the incident occurred.
Police have yet to determine why the man walked into the eastbound lane of traffic and whether or not he will be cited for jaywalking.
The driver, who has yet to be identified, remained at the accident scene. The driver is not expected to face charges. Police do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
The freak Warminster pedestrian accident is still under investigation by local police. There was no immediate indication as to how the accident occurred or why the victim was in the road.
Our thoughts and best wishes go out to the victim while he recovers from his injuries. We wish him a full and speedy recovery.
