William C. Shelly, 84, of Quakertown, PA was fatally injured on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 as a result of a four-car Bucks County car accident on Route 663 in Milford, PA.

Milford police report that the fatal car accident took place when Mr. Shelly, driving a Ford F-150 truck, hit the rear of a Chevrolet 1500 truck which was stopped at a red light in a westbound lane of Route 663 at Allentown Road. The Chevrolet 1500 truck was driven by Margaret A. Hetzel of Quakertown, PA.

Upon hitting Margaret Hetzel’s vehicle, William Shelly’s truck rolled into the eastbound lanes and struck a Buick sedan driven by Lawrence Wanzer of Chalfont, PA. Mr. Shelly’s truck then rolled over once again and collided with a tractor-trailer driven by Sean Hannes of Perkasie. Police have reported that Mr. Shelly’s truck landed in the eastbound lanes of Route 663 facing west.

William Shelly was pronounced dead at the scene of the Pennsylvania car accident; he was not wearing a seat belt. It is still undetermined why Mr. Shelly was not able to stop for the red light at which he hit Ms. Hetzel. The fatal Pennsylvania car accident investigation is ongoing.

Ms. Hetzel had a 5-year old girl riding with her in the Chevrolet 1500 when she was hit. Both were taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital with minor injuries. Mr. Wanzer was not transported to the hospital but did suffer a few minor injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Mr. Hannes, was not injured.
