Northeast Philadelphia Car Accident Sends Two to the Hospital

A Northeast Philadelphia car accident involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) sends two people to the hospital after the driver loses control of her vehicle and slams into a school. The incident took place at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon, December 8, 2011, in the 9200 block of Bustleton Avenue.

According to reports, the driver of a SUV lost control of her vehicle and slammed into a classroom at Maternity B.V.M. School in the Bustleton section of the Northeast Philadelphia area. The driver has been identified as a 31-year-old female.

Rescue crews transported the driver and her 4-year-old child to a local hospital where they were treated for injuries sustained in the accident. Fortunately, they have both been reported as being in stable condition.

Reports indicate that an eighth grader was in the classroom at the time of the accident. However, the student was unhurt. There were no other injuries reported.

The single-vehicle Northeast Philadelphia car accident remains under investigation by local authorities. There was no immediate indication as to what caused the driver to lose control of her vehicle and crash into the school.
