Scheduled For a CRN Evaluation in Pennsylvania? Here’s What it Means.

CRN stands for Court Reporting Network. This is the organization that has been sanctioned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to conduct evaluations for drug and alcohol abuse by PA DUI / DAI offenders. The evaluation consists of completing a questionnaire and an interview from a counselor certified by the State. The counselor may order additional treatment if needed. The results of the evaluation are sent the District Attorney’s office and also sent to the Court. If the judge rules that you must receive extra treatment recommended by the PA CRN evaluation, you will have to pay for it yourself.

Usually after your Preliminary Hearing for a PA DUI / DAI, the District Justice will order you to make an appointment for the CRN evaluation within 48 hours.
