Truck Crashes Into House in Philadelphia, Driver and Passenger Flee

An elderly couple was awakened at about 2:30 a.m. on the morning of October 8, 2011 by what they thought was a loud explosion. What the couple believed was an explosion actually turned out to be the destruction of their front porch by a pick-up truck.

The Philadelphia car wreck occurred on Saturday morning on Langford Street. The Dodge Dakota truck was speeding down the street at a high rate of speed and lost control at the dead-end. The truck then proceeded up over the curb, across the elderly couple’s lawn and into the front porch of their house.

The driver of the truck, as well as the front seat passenger, both fled from the scene. They have not yet been apprehended.

Two men, who were riding in the back seat of the vehicle, sustained injuries in the accident – one serious and one critical. They were both taken to Aria Hospital-Torresdale for treatment.

The elderly couple was awakened with quite a scare, but did not sustain any physical injuries in the accident.

It is unknown whether the crash caused significant structural damage to the house.

The Philadelphia injury lawyers at Cordisco & Saile wish a full recovery to all who were injured in this accident.
