Plaintiffs say drug companies manufactured faulty drugs and failed to warn of the risks.

Invokana Injuries include:  Kidney failure and limb amputations below the knee

Surgical Transvaginal Mesh – Pain for over 40,000 for Women

Doctors sometimes use transvaginal mesh (TVM), a mesh device placed transvaginally, to treat conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.  About 40,200 transvaginal mesh lawsuits allege the implants caused health complications. In April 2017, a Philadelphia jury awarded $20 million to a woman who had a transvaginal mesh surgery.

TVM Injuries Include: Revision Surgery, infection, debilitating pain, and urinary problems.

IVC Filters – A Potentially Deadly Device

IVC filters are devices designed to catch and prevent blood clots from entering the heart and lungs of patients who are at high risk of pulmonary embolism.  IVC refers to the inferior vena cava, the large vein where the filter is implanted.

Complaints of serious issues due to the device have been reported to the FDA. IVC filter products are now known to break, move and puncture organs; and result in significant complications during retrieval.

IVC Injuries include: Organ damage, need for surgery, and possible death.

Talcum Powder – A Potentially Damaging Hygiene Product

Commonly known for use in baby powder and other similar products, a jury awarded $417 million in damages to a medical receptionist who developed ovarian cancer after using the company’s trademark Johnson’s Baby Powder for decades.  Johnson & Johnson was recently ordered to pay one man $80 million dollars after baby powder caused him to develop mesothelioma.

Talcum Powder Injuries Include: Ovarian Cancer and Mesothelioma.

Physiomesh / Hernia Mesh – Lead to Painful Revision Surgeries

Because hernias have a risk of re-opening, surgeons often stitch in a mesh patch or plug to help reinforce muscles and connective tissues. Numerous patients, including men with the Ethicon Physiomesh hernia patch have experienced complications and failure which can cause infection or injury, and require painful revision surgery to correct.  The mesh was recalled in 2016.

Hernia Mesh Injuries Include: Severe pain, bowel obstructions, infections, or recurrent hernias.

Xarelto – A Blood Thinner with Awful Side Effects

This blood thinning drug has caused patients to have adverse side effects of internal bleeding. By 2014, a number of Xarelto lawsuits had been filed on behalf of individuals who allegedly suffered incontrollable internal bleeding because of the medication. They claim that drug manufacturers should have disclosed this information about the side effect to them and to the medical community.

Xarelto Injuries Include: Internal bleeding, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and death.
