A Bucks County teacher and coach was crossing a road when a student driver struck him, throwing him 10 to 15 feet along the roadway. The collision occurred during school hours in an area where pedestrians regularly walked, and our demand made clear that the driver had a responsibility to watch for pedestrians in a busy school and that his negligent operation of the vehicle caused the incident.
What first seemed like bruising and soreness turned out to be far more serious: a fracture that wasn’t immediately diagnosed and later required surgery with bone grafting and hardware, along with wrist injuries and other soft-tissue trauma.
