Levittown Pedestrian Accident Claims Life of Man

A Levittown pedestrian accident involving a hit-and-run driver has claimed the life of a man after he was struck by a driver who made an illegal pass of another vehicle. The incident took place at approximately 12:30 AM on Sunday, February 19, 2012, along New Falls Road in Bucks County.

According to local police, the driver of a black 1999 Audi was speeding along New Falls Road at Holly Drive when he illegally passed another vehicle and struck a pedestrian. The driver has been identified as 23-year-old Charles Horrocks. Police indicated that Mr. Horrocks was “wasted” and driving with a suspended license.

The victim was fatally struck while he was crossing the road. He has been identified as Eric Beck, 36, of Wild Rose Lane.

“After striking the pedestrian, the vehicle continued to drive east on New Falls Road, never stopping to check on the pedestrian,” said Sarah Frost, the driver of the vehicle that Mr. Horrocks passed.

Mr. Horrocks was eventually apprehended by police after he was turned in by a friend.

The fatal Levittown pedestrian accident remains under investigation by local authorities. The suspect has been charged with vehicular homicide, among other charges.
