Hamilton, NJ Hit-and-Run Seriously Injures Motorcyclist

Matthew Oravsky (23) of Hamilton, NJ was left seriously injured at the scene of an apparent New Jersey hit and run accident on August 31, 2009. Mr. Oravsky was riding his motorcycle when he was hit by someone driving a Subaru vehicle at the intersection of Whitehorse-Mercerville Road and Route 33 in Hamilton Township, NJ.

At the time, police sought witnesses to the hit and run accident and on September 4 arrested Craig Brauer (23) of Pennington, NJ as the alleged driver of the vehicle that hit Mr. Oravsky. Hamilton Township police recovered the vehicle driven by Mr. Brauer in the New Jersey car accident.

Mr. Oravsky suffered substantial head trauma and back injuries when hit and thrown from his bike. He was transported to Capital Health where he underwent surgery the same day.

Mr. Brauer has been charged with aggravated assault, assault by auto, knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash with injury, reckless driving, making an improper turn, and failure to report a motor vehicle accident with injury. He posted bail and was released from police custody.
